So let me introduce myself a little more by using some sort of backstory. When I was little, I loved reading. In first grade, Amelia Bedelia was my best friend. If only I could continue reading her stories for the rest of my public school career. She taught me how to read, and her books were the first books I read all by myself! Though as I grew older, my independent reading grew less. Being forced to read in school was somewhat a hassle for me. If the books I read were actually interesting, then maybe I would still enjoy it. But my teachers constantly made me analyze the most boring books I could have ever even put my eyes on.
Starting high school, I read a little. Though, the books I read were more of the popular ones that became movies. Those were the only books that interested me, and I did not have time to sit down and read a novel that is often taught in school. I wish I loved to read, but I lacked the time. Sometimes when I read, the information of the novel just passes right through me. I wish it would not happen, but that is how it works sometimes. In order for me to be completely submerged in a book, it either has to be completely silent, like pin-drop silent, or I would need soft music playing in the background. Any type of voices that sound like they are having a conversation completely distract me.

Although it has only seen one post, your blog is already wonderful! I can't wait to keep up with your posts. I love how earnest you are when sharing your previous experiences with reading, and I appreciate your urge to expand your reading tastes. The way you speak about your desire to learn, such as wanting this love of reading to blossom, proves to me that you have the potential to achieve your goal. You seem driven and motivated and it is extremely evident within your first post. I hope to see more posts in the near future, and I wish you luck in your endeavors to becoming an amazing reader! ReplyDeleteI can already tell that your blog is going to be one of my favorites. I completely understand your struggle with being forced to read book that are boring and then being forced to analyze them after. I feel as though school and reading would be more enjoyable if we weren’t forced to read books in which we were not interested in. I love how honest your blog is, many people would not say that they love talking about themselves because normally that would be seen as conceded but for some reason when you say I feel as though that is just your personality and it doesn’t come off as being conceded at all. But I am certainly looking forward to reading your future posts! (126)
